Bikram yoga has transformed my life into something beautiful.
My journey began at the age of seventeen in Southern California
when a friend form school invited me to this new cool “hot” yoga.
I was immediately interested, and lets just say my first class was
not easy, but I loved it! Bikram Yoga brought me back to my
childhood years when I was a competitive gymnast because
of the determination and strength to get through each and
every class, much like gymnastics. From that day on my
passion for this yoga grew and grew. The last few years have
taken me to New York and London where I continued my yoga
practice but also studied Acting. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine
Arts in Acting I was given an ultimatum, start my career as an actress
or save up money by working odd jobs until I saved up enough money
to go to teacher training and become a certified yoga teacher.
You can guess the choice I made which I am very happy with. What better job
than to teach people everyday about something you are extremely passionate
about and believe in. Bikram yoga is universal. Anywhere you go in this world you
can find this yoga, 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, no more and no less.
This yoga changes lives and everyone in the yoga room has a story about why he or she loves
this yoga and how they found themselves in class. Bikram yoga has taught me to embrace myself for
who I am and that if I want to wear sparkly shorts to class then so be it. This practice has taught me to
let go of the negativity in my life. It has taught me that I can achieve anything. I have the need to teach,
to share, to feel connected with others. If the world could just stop and focus on their breath, on their
stillness, we would see the interconnectedness between us. I am learning. I am understanding.
I will teach the importance of just being. I am ever grateful for this practice and for you.
